WSA Prime Surfing America USA Championships Slot Allocation:
At the Surfing America board meeting in March, slot allocations for the USA Championships were made to all member organizations. The Surfing America USA Championships will be held August 25 - 30 at the Huntington Beach Pier. WSA Prime slots will be allocated based on top 4 regular season result totals. We have the following slots:
Boys U18 - 20 Slots
Boys U16 - 20 Slots
Boys U14 - 12 Slots
Girls U18 - 12 Slots
Girls U16 - 12 Slots

Prime Committment for 2009/2010 Season:
Once you are selected to surf WSA Prime, you are elligible to surf Prime until you age out at 18 years old on January 1 of the season as long as you surf the minimum of 4 events each season. Since we run Prime like the WQS/Pro Jr. Series we will seed you into next season based on your results this season. We will ask you to sign a committment for next season. We anticipate the entry fees to stay the same and will have our schedule for next season available the first week of June. We are asking that you commit to the 4 event minimum, a 2.0 GPA and to communicate whether you will be in or out of a given event in a timely manner. Because it messes up the heat seedings, there will be fines next season if a contest is missed without advance notice. This season's PacSun USA Surf Team members who traveled to Ecuador will have their registration and entry fees paid by PacSun. Coach Joey Buran requires all West Coast USA Team Members to surf the WSA Prime Series. Once again we will try to avoid conflicts with Pro Junior and NSSA Open events.

You can check your registration status by CLICKING HERE. Enter your email address and password. Click on the "Statement" tab. If you owe any money, we ask that you bring your account current before the Salt Creek event.

Gary Ward from Ocean Minded and WSA Prime Director, Greg Cruse, walked the contest site on Monday scouring the area for trash. All they could find were a few handfuls of trash. Thanks for being ocean minded and only leaving footprints at Upper Trestles!

New Date and Location for Event #5 - Upper Trestles February 21 & 22, 2009!
We have rescheduled event #5 originally scheduled for March 7 at the Huntington Beach Pier to February 21 & 22 at Upper Trestles. We are super stoked to be permitted to have an event at Uppers. The first one in over a decade! The new date avoids the conflict with the NSSA Interscholastic State Championships so you don't have to chose between surfing WSA Prime and surfing for your school team.

PacSun WSA Prime Event #2 at Church Beach, San Onofre, Goes Off!
Dane Zaun, Taylor Thorne, Kanoa Igarashi, Courtney Conlogue and Melina Smith Take First.

Thanks to Nalu's Island Grill for donating the killer plate lunch to all the competitors!
